Functional layout: Two large vestibules and entrances offer storage spaces that are accessed easily, even from within a sleeping bag. Doors are large enough to allow two adults to sit side by side. Like the standard 7.5 AirMat, the Exped AirMat 7.5 Pump Deluxe has a thickness of over three inches, so it adds plenty of cushion and moderate insulation. The big advantage that the AirMat 7.5 Pump Deluxe Mat has over Exped's self-inflating ComfortFoam Mats is the substantial weight savings--even including pump weight. Keep in mind that Exped recommends using AirMats in warm weather conditions like summer backpacking. If you're camping on an ice field or climbing in the early spring or late fall, you'll feel warmer on the insulated mattress found in Exped's DownMat collection.
